The Power is in the New Covenant

The following verse from Luke, chapter 10, verse 19, is historic and prophetic. Historically, it took place when the seventy Yahusha sent out were returning from preaching the gospel. Prophetically, the seventy are a foreshadowing of the latter rain as foretold in Deuteronomy 11:14, Job 29:23, Proverbs 16:15, Jeremiah 3:3 and 5:24, Hosea 6:3, Joel 2:23, Zechariah 10:1 and James 5:7.

Prophetically speaking, the sending out of the twelve is a foreshadowing of the former rain, and the sending out of the seventy is a foreshadowing of the latter rain. Historically, both events occurred during Yahusha’s ministry and were an impartation of the power in His ministry to His DISCIPLES. These are they who are being kept in His Father’s Name under a New Covenant that will be ratified in His Own Blood.  John 17:11  And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

From the days of John the Baptist and forward the Kingdom of Heaven was being preached. This was new. Repentance for the forgiveness of sins, not sacrifices and offerings, was new. The blind see, the lame walk, the deaf hear, the lepers are cleansed, the dead are raised to new life, and to the poor is the gospel preached, this was new. Blessed is everyone who is not offended in Yahusha Ha Mashiach, this was new.

Yahusha Ha Mashiach brought a new gospel. The kingdom of heaven is within you if you abide in Him and His words abide in you, if you love Him and keep His commandments, and if you love one another as He has loved you. This is what He meant when He said, “And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.” To abide in Him means to walk, even as He walked. 1John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

This is a new covenant ratified in the blood of Yahusha Ha Mashiach. Hebrews 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Because the old covenant was ratified in the blood of goats and bulls. The old covenant was according to the words delivered by Moses. Exo 24:8  And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which Yahuah hath made with you concerning all these words. The words Moses is referring to are the words given to Him on Mt. Sinai, some 1,400 to 1,500 years before Yahusha came and taught about the kingdom of God. Those are the words of the old covenant.

The new covenant is according to the works and words of Yahusha Ha Mashiach, ratified in His Own Blood.

In the new covenant the Kingdom of Heaven, the Kingdom of God, is within you. You cannot separate God from His power. If God is dwelling within you, then all of His power is dwelling within you. Luke 17:20,21 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Yahusha told His DISCIPLES, John 14:10-12 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Greater works, “because I go unto my Father”. We have not only the Father but also the Son dwelling in us if we are truly His DISCIPLES. John 14:23  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Works are part and parcel to the Gospel that Yahusha preached. Those works are good news just as His teachings are good news. Healing the sick is good news. Casting out devils is good news. The word gospel literally means good news. Yahusha said Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; THIS gospel that Yahusha is referring to is the gospel, good news, that He preached. It is THIS gospel that from the very beginning was to be preached with power.

Mark 6:7-13 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse: But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats. And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. And they went out, and preached that men should repent. And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

THIS IS BOTH THE GOSPEL AND HOW IT IS TO BE PRESENTED.

THIS IS THE MODEL.

FOLLOW IT EXACTLY.

One more time so that, “at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.”

Luk 10:1-12 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again. And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

Did you notice that at no time did Yahusha tell His disciples to take up an offering or write a book and sell it?

Let’s repent and do things His way.

Hear what the Apostle Paul wrote to the Elect, the called-out ones, the church, in Corinth.

1Corinthians 2:1-5 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

And one more time so that, “at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.”

1Corinthians 4:16-20 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church. Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
