The False Prophet
666 and Base 60 Math – The False Prophet-Audio Only Link
Once again this section will be heavy on scripture from the Bible and other Hebrew writings. We are going to discover the person whom God Himself describes as a vile person.
But first I want to do a little explaining about the name of Jesus to eliminate any confusion some may have.
I have used both the Hebrew name of God the Father and the Hebrew name of His Son at times throughout this website. I did so to introduce those names into use knowing I will write the full explanation in the section on What the Bible Really Says.
I have not been consistent in using Hebrew names because they are so unfamiliar to most people. In the interest of the reader, I often use the names most familiar to English speakers. At this time it is necessary to explain the name of Jesus because we will be talking about a false Messiah in this section.
Most people refer to Jesus as Jesus Christ, as if Christ is His last name. This is because the Bible does a poor job of translating. Where it says Jesus Christ it should say, Jesus, the Christ. Christ is a title, not a name. Christ is the Greek word for Messiah. Messiah is English, the Hebrew word is Mashiach which means anointed.
Christ=Messiah=Mashiach which means anointed, or more precisely, anointed by God when used in that context.
Jesus’ name is Yahusha in Hebrew. Jesus, the Christ in Hebrew is Yahusha HaMashiach. Ha being ‘the’.
So now, when we are reading Jesus Christ we are saying Jesus, the Messiah, the Anointed One of God.
All that is to point out that in this section we are going to be talking about a false Messiah. It would take a long time to explain why the current occupants of Israel, whether descendants of Abraham or not, have never accepted Jesus as their long-awaited Messiah. They are still TO THIS DAY waiting for their promised Messiah to appear.
The people who followed Moses out of Egypt, the people who went three days journey into the wilderness to Mt. Sinai, those people met with God at that mountain. When Moses returned the second time from spending forty days and forty nights with God, the Ten Commandments, written by the finger of God in tablets of stone, with those tablets in his hand and the GLORY OF GOD SHINING UPON HIS FACE, those people refused to look upon His Glory.
(Exod 34:29, 30 [KJV])
And it came to pass, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come to nigh him.
(Exod 34:31 [KJV])
And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them. And afterward, all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in Mount Sinai. And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.
That veil is still upon their hearts to this day. The children of Israel have never been able to understand their scriptures. They think the Word of God is line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little. They do not understand that the Word of God is a living, moving, working form of life. The Word of God is SPIRITUAL. The Word of God is NOT letters on a piece of paper. Letters on a piece of paper form a law that no one keeps and therefore results in death. The living, moving, working, SPIRITUAL Word of God brings life to everyone who understands and keeps it in their heart.
The whole world is going to suffer at the hands of Beast 1 and Beast 2.
Israel is going to bear the brunt of their fury. But the Beast and his image are going to be destroyed by the very GLORY OF GOD ON THE FACES OF THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL.
Because once again, God is going to meet with a small remnant of the children of Israel who escape from the Beast. He is going to meet with them after the manner of Mt Sinai. That God is Jesus, the Christ, Yahusha HaMashiach. This time they will meet Him and they will accept Him and they will return to the land of Israel, shouting, singing, and praising Yahusha HaMashiach with THE GLORY OF GOD SHINING UPON THEIR FACES. When the Beast sees them coming, and hears them shouting, singing, and praising the TRUE MESSIAH he will turn and flee in terror.
Now let’s take a look at Beast #2, the false prophet, the little horn, the false Messiah.
We are going to look at the beast which rises up from the earth in Revelation 13. I will call him Beast #2. Let’s take a look at the scriptures in Revelation 13 relating to him.
(Rev 13:11 [KJV])
And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
(Rev 13:12 [KJV])
And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
(Rev 13:13 [KJV])
And he doeth great wonders so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
(Rev 13:14 [KJV])
And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
(Rev 13:15 [KJV])
And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
(Rev 13:16 [KJV])
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
(Rev 13:17 [KJV])
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
(Rev 13:18 [KJV])
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man, and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
In the first of these verses, Revelation 13:11, the body of this beast has two horns like a lamb. A two-horned lamb or a two-horned ram are the same animal. In the Bible, only two countries have a lamb or ram as their symbol. The lamb is a well-known symbol in Judaism and Christianity, and it is often used to represent the people of Israel or the sacrifice of Jesus. In the book of Daniel, chapter 8, Daniel has a vision in which he sees a two-horned ram representing the kingdom of Media and Persia.
Given our options, I believe the clear choice for the interpretation of this symbol is the Kingdom of Media and Persia. This gives us a lineage or heritage to work with along with some geography.
This is THE KEY to unlocking all the scriptures about this man. By this, we can establish without any doubt that this beast is the LITTLE HORN from the prophecies of Daniel. We will look at all those scriptures in this section. The scriptures have more to say about this villain than any other villain in the Bible. This is the Assyrian. This is Chaldea, Babylon, Nineveh, and the judgments thereof. This is the hammer of all the earth. This is the man whom God Himself describes as a vile person. This is the man whom God declares He will end his posterity in the earth. We are going to look at lots and lots of scriptures and we will be able to attribute them to either Beast 1 or Beast 2, but primarily Beast 2.
Using the two-horned ram as a symbol for the Empire of the Medes and Persians for Beast #2 it will be useful to examine the history of that kingdom to see why the revelation uses that particular symbol.
The history of the Medes and Persians is a complex and fascinating one, with a long and intricate timeline that spans several centuries.
The Medes were an ancient Iranian people who lived in the northwestern region of present-day Iran, and they are first mentioned in Assyrian records dating back to the 9th century BCE. According to Assyrian records, the Medes initially posed little threat to the Assyrian Empire and were primarily focused on their internal affairs. However, over time, the Medes began to expand their territory and engage in conflicts with neighboring tribes and kingdoms.
One notable conflict between the Assyrians and the Medes took place in the late 8th century BCE, during the reign of the Assyrian king Sargon II. At this time, the Medes joined forces with the Babylonians and other groups to form a coalition against the Assyrians, who were then one of the dominant powers in the region. The Assyrians were ultimately able to defeat this coalition and maintain their control over much of the ancient Near East for several more centuries.
In the 7th century BCE, the Medes established a powerful empire of their own in the region, which they ruled for more than a century.
In the mid-6th century BCE, the Persian king Cyrus the Great conquered the Medes and established the Persian Empire. Cyrus went on to conquer a vast territory, including the kingdoms of Lydia, Babylon, and Egypt, and his empire became the largest in the world at the time.
The capital of the empire established by Cyrus the Great was Pasargadae. Pasargadae was located in present-day Iran, in the province of Fars. Cyrus the Great founded the city in the 6th century BCE and made it the capital of the Achaemenid Empire, which he established.
Pasargadae held great historical significance as the center of power for Cyrus and subsequent Achaemenid rulers. The most notable structure in Pasargadae is the Tomb of Cyrus, which is believed to be the final resting place of Cyrus the Great himself. The tomb is an architectural masterpiece and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Other notable structures in Pasargadae include the Audience Hall, the Residential Palace, and the Gardens.
During the reign of Darius the Great, the capital of the Achaemenid Empire was later moved to Persepolis, another prominent city in Iran. However, Pasargadae remains an important archaeological site and a testament to the legacy of Cyrus the Great and the early years of the Achaemenid Empire.
Under Cyrus and his successors, the Persian Empire became known for its sophisticated culture, impressive architecture, and impressive military might. The Persian kings also pursued a policy of religious tolerance, which allowed them to maintain control over a diverse range of subject peoples. This is very different from a Caliphate that enforces strict adherence to Islam.
Let’s examine the scriptures above from Revelation 13 to clarify them and get a list of the actions of this Beast #2.
The second verse above, Rev 13:12 says And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him… The word power here means authority. Even though this beast can do miracles in the presence of Beast 1, this particular use of the word power is in the sense of authority. This brings me to the word before in this verse. The word before in this particular verse means in the presence of. This can be confusing because this beast, Beast 2, comes to power in the latter years of Beast 1 so some readers think before means chronologically before, but it does not. I bring this up because you need to understand that Beast 2’s miracle-working power is dependent on being in the presence of Beast 1. This is the reason he makes an image of Beast 1.
In the second half of verse 12, …and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed…we see Beast 2 using the authority of Beast 1 to mandate that all people on Earth worship Beast 1.
And in verses 13-17, we get a list of Beast 2’s actions. Here is a recap:
- Causes everyone on Earth to worship Beast 1
- Performs great wonders (miracles)
- Causes fire to come down from heaven
- Deceives the people of Earth through the miracles he can do
- Commands men to make an image of Beast 1
- Gives life to the image of Beast 1 so that it can speak
- Mandates that anyone who does not worship the image of Beast 1 should be killed
- Mandates that everyone on Earth receives a mark on their right hand or forehead
- Mandates that no one may buy or sell anything without the mark of Beast 1, or his name, or the number of his name
You can see that Beast 2 has both the miracle-working power and the dictatorial authority of Beast 1 so long as he is in the presence of Beast 1 or the presence of the image of Beast 1. This is a symbiotic relationship. Beast 1 is god and Beast 2 is his prophet. The prophet speaks for god on the earth, he is his mouthpiece. The prophet receives his power from god. The prophet receives his authority from god. Beast 1 is a false god. Beast 2 is a false prophet.
Let’s review what we now know about Beast 2.
First, this is a beast in the same sense as Beast 1, therefore this is a kingdom and a king. And just as Beast 1 has a physical territory on the earth that is defined by the body of the beast, so does Beast 2. We are going to get into that right away.
Secondly, we know that Beast 2 is a Johnny-come-lately to the party because Beast 1 has already risen from the dead by the time Beast 2 gets his kingdom.
Finally, we know that Beast 2 exercises all of the miracle-working power, and all of the political authority of Beast 1 when he is in the presence of Beast 1 or the image of Beast 1.
Let’s establish his homeland. We know that his territories are those of Medes and Persians because he is the two-horned ram. We covered that kingdom in the last section. The Medes were from the northwest region of Iran. The Persian, Cyrus the Great’s capital was Pasargadae in Iran. We will establish that the little horn plucks up 3 horns of Beast #1. We can be certain that one of the horns will be the ruler seated in Iran.
The other two horns are slightly more speculative but Iraq is a certainty and probably Syria or Jordon for the third horn. We will see that the scriptures clearly show Iran and Iraq as being his homeland and that they will be destroyed because of him. Jordon, aka Idumea, will also burn forever.
Let’s get into the prophecies in Daniel once again to zero in on the little horn.
Dan 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.
Dan 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
The above scriptures are the first mention of the little horn.
Now we are going to chapter 11 where we have a prophecy about the kings of the north, the Seleucids, and the kings of the south, the Ptolemaic. Seemingly unimportant but we see that the little horn usurps the Seleucid territories. Those territories varied from time to time but at one time or another included the following:
-
Turkey: The western part of modern-day Turkey, including regions like Anatolia and parts of the Mediterranean coast, was once part of the Seleucid Empire.
-
Syria: The entirety of modern-day Syria, including its capital Damascus, was part of the Seleucid Empire.
-
Lebanon: The region of modern-day Lebanon, including its coastal areas, was part of the Seleucid Empire.
-
Iraq: Large parts of modern-day Iraq, including Mesopotamia and ancient cities like Babylon and Seleucia, were under the control of the Seleucid Empire.
-
Iran: Various regions of modern-day Iran, including areas in the western and southwestern parts of the country, were part of the Seleucid Empire.
-
Jordan: Parts of modern-day Jordan, including the city of Amman, were once part of the Seleucid Empire.
-
Israel and Palestine: The southern part of modern-day Israel and parts of Palestine, including Jerusalem, were under the rule of the Seleucid Empire. Notably, this region experienced significant conflicts during the Hellenistic period, including the Maccabean Revolt.
-
Afghanistan: Parts of present-day Afghanistan, particularly in the eastern and northern regions, were part of the Seleucid Empire.
Dan 11:21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honor of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
Dan 11:22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
Dan 11:23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
Dan 11:24 He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strongholds, even for a time.
Dan 11:25 And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army, but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.
Dan 11:26 Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain.
Dan 11:27 And both these kings’ hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table, but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.
Dan 11:28 Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant, and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.
Dan 11:29 At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.
Dan 11:30 For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.
Dan 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
Dan 11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
Dan 11:33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
Dan 11:34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.
Dan 11:35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.
Dan 11:36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that, that is determined shall be done.
Dan 11:37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
Dan 11:38 But in his estate shall he honor the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
Dan 11:39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
Dan 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
Dan 11:41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.
Dan 11:42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
Dan 11:43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
Dan 11:44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.
Dan 11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
Many people try to interpret these passages as referring to Antiochus IV Epiphanes. That is not possible. I will take a little time here to briefly explain.
When Alexander the Great died his kingdom was divided between 4 of his generals.
-
Ptolemy I Soter: Ptolemy, a trusted general and companion of Alexander, took control of Egypt and founded the Ptolemaic dynasty. The Ptolemies ruled over Egypt for several centuries, with Alexandria as their capital. In the passages of Daniel 11, this would be the KINGDOM OF THE SOUTH
-
Seleucus I Nicator: Seleucus, another prominent general, established the Seleucid Empire, which encompassed much of the eastern territories of Alexander’s empire, including Mesopotamia, Persia, and parts of Central Asia. In the passages of Daniel 11, this would be the KINGDOM OF THE NORTH
-
Antigonus I Monophthalmus: Antigonus, also a respected general, initially controlled parts of Asia Minor but eventually declared himself king and attempted to reunify Alexander’s empire. His efforts, however, led to a series of conflicts known as the Wars of the Diadochi.
-
Cassander: Cassander, a general who controlled Macedonia and Greece, established the Antipatrid dynasty. His rule was focused on those regions and he played a significant role in the struggles for power following Alexander’s death.
Daniel 11:1-20 Prophesies of the coming power struggles between the subsequent kings of the north and kings of the south, the Ptolemies and the Seleucids. Historically, we can identify these kings and their wars up to verse 20, the raiser of taxes, is Seleucus IV Philopator, who was a Seleucid king and the son of Antiochus III.
This is where we get the assumption that the next verse, 11:21, and the subsequent verses, refer to Antiochus IV Epiphanes who was a son of King Antiochus III and a brother of the previous king, Seleucus IV Philopator.
However, the verse in question, Daniel 11:21 specifically disqualifies Antiochus IV Epiphanes as the person referenced. Here is the verse again: Dan 11:21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honor of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
The honor of the kingdom would go to a family member, even if taken by force or by intrigue. Further Antiochus IV Epiphanes did not obtain the kingdom through flatteries. Quite the contrary,
Following the death of Seleucus IV, a power struggle ensued within the Seleucid royal family. Demetrius I, the young son of Seleucus IV, was the rightful heir to the throne. Demetrius I’s mother, Laodice, was regent during his minority. However, Antiochus IV, the brother of Seleucus IV, held control over important military and political positions. Antiochus IV had been serving as a hostage in Rome but returned to the Seleucid court during this time. Antiochus IV gained support from influential factions within the court and the military. He garnered the backing of key figures such as the chief minister, Heliodorus. Antiochus IV orchestrated the assassination of his nephew, Demetrius I, likely with the assistance of his supporters.
You can see that Daniel 11:21 specifically disqualifies Antiochus IV Epiphanes as the subject of the prophecy.
What we have here is a jump in time between verse 20 and verse 21. We jump from around 161 BCE to some time still in our future. A jump of over 2000 years between verses.
This type of time jump is not unprecedented in prophecy. It is not that uncommon. This is where the casual Bible reader many times gets lost. God does not consider a thousand years to be a significant period of time. Actually, the entire history of this world, from its beginning to its end God calls it a short work. Rom 9:28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.
Starting in verse 21 we are reading the prophecy of the LITTLE HORN, aka the beast that rises from the earth, aka the two-horned ram, aka the False Prophet, a vile person. Now that we know the beast that rises up from the Earth in Revelation 13 is the little horn from Daniel’s visions, let’s take a look at the rest of the scriptures concerning him.
Dan 7:2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.
Dan 7:3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
Dan 7:4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.
(this is the kingdom of Babylon during Nebuchadnezzar’s reign)
Dan 7:5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
( this is the kingdom of the Medes and Persians that conquered Babylon )
Dan 7:6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
( this is the kingdom of Alexander the Great )
Dan 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
( this is the kingdom of the beast that comes up from the sea, Beast 1 )
Dan 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
Daniel 7:4,5,6 describe the Babylonian Empire, The Medes and Persians Empire, and the Empire of Alexander the Great. Then verse 7 refers to the Empire of Beast 1, again another gap of 2000+ years in scripture. Please note that the Empire of the Medes and Persians in verse 5 is also a prophetic picture of the Empire of the Little Horn with the 3 ribs in the bear’s mouth representing the 3 horns that the little horn will pluck up by the roots in verse 8. Once again we have confirmation that the Kingdom of the Little Horn is the kingdom of the Medes and Persians.
Dan 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
Dan 7:10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
Dan 7:11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed and given to the burning flame.
Dan 7:12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
Verse 11 says the beast, Beast 2, the beast that rises from the Earth, is slain and HIS BODY DESTROYED and given to the flame. This is the most important clue to the geographic territory of Beast 2. HIS BODY, his geographic territory, will be destroyed and given to the burning flame. This is literal.
Two of the three horns that the LITTLE HORN plucks up by the roots will be destroyed in World War 3. Those two are Iran and Iraq. The third horn still illudes me at this time. A third territory, Jordon, will also become uninhabitable, however, scripture does not allow for Jordon to be the third horn. The smoke of them will rise up forever. I will include those scriptures near the end of this post.
Continuing with the little horn scriptures…
Dan 8:3 Then I lifted up mine eyes and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high, but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
Dan 8:4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
Dan 8:5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
Dan 8:6 And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.
Dan 8:7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
Dan 8:8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
Dan 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
Dan 8:10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
Dan 8:11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him, the daily was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
Dan 8:12 And a host was given him against the daily by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.
Dan 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
Dan 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
This is the interpretation of the above scriptures given to Daniel by the angel Gabriel.
Dan 8:16 And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of Ulai, which called and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
Dan 8:17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
Dan 8:18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
Dan 8:19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.
Dan 8:20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.
Dan 8:21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. (this is Alexander the Great)
Dan 8:22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power. (these are the kingdoms of his 4 generals, the Antigonid Kingdom, The Seleucid Empire, The Ptolemaic Kingdom, and The Kingdom of Macedon)
Dan 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
Dan 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
Dan 8:25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes, but he shall be broken without hand.
Dan 8:26 And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.
Gabriel does a good job of explaining verses 3 through 9 but once you get to the ‘little horn’ and verses 10 through 14 the explanation gets a little thin. His explanation of 10-14 is in verses 24 and 25. What he does not explain is the ‘sanctuary’, the ‘host of heaven’ the ‘daily’, the ‘transgression of desolation’, and the 2300 days.
Here is where we get all kinds of weird explanations from people that do not understand the Scriptures. I wish more preachers would take James 3:1 to heart…Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. (Berean Standard Bible version)
I am going to give you the correct understanding, however, buckle up, this is going to take a minute.
Unless or until you understand that the Word of God is SPIRITUAL you will not be able to interpret prophetic scriptures correctly. The prophets who wrote down the scriptures were inspired by the LIVING Holy Spirit to write what they wrote. It is a LIVING WORD from a LIVING GOD. You must let the LIVING GOD give you a LIVING UNDERSTANDING of His Word.
I want to explain the sanctuary first because the proper understanding of the sanctuary unlocks this part of the prophecy.
Exodus 15:13 With loving devotion You will lead the people You have redeemed; with Your strength, You will guide them to Your holy dwelling.
Exodus 15:17 You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of Your inheritance— the place, O LORD, You have prepared for Your dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, Your hands have established.
The sanctuary of God is not built with human hands. The sanctuary of God is built by the Hands of God. The sanctuary of God is the place He has chosen for HIS DWELLING PLACE FOREVER. The sanctuary of God is in the people that He has chosen, redeemed, cleansed, sanctified, and planted on the mountain of HIS INHERITANCE.
This is the true sanctuary of God. This is the only sanctuary that can be cleansed.
Because the last verse of Daniel’s vision says that after 2300 evenings and mornings the sanctuary will be cleansed we are 100% certain this is not a sanctuary made with human hands. A sanctuary made with human hands cannot be cleansed. Never. Ever. Ever. Never ever. A physical room in a physical temple can never, ever, ever, be cleansed. Let’s look a the Word of God for confirmation.
Exo 20:24 An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.
Exo 20:25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
Isa 66:1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
Isa 66:2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD:
The only type of sanctuary man can make for God is a polluted one, and it cannot be cleansed because the moment man altars something God has made, man has polluted it. Everything God made was perfect and the moment a man begins to reshape it, it is no longer perfect. Therefore it can never be cleansed.
If, as many people teach, this is a physical sanctuary then it would have to be in a third temple in Jerusalem. The Tabernacle of Moses no longer exists. The Tabernacle of David, which the Bible says will be raised up again does not contain a sanctuary. That only leaves a third temple which would be constructed of hewn stones.
The sanctuary of God is in his people. This is His dwelling place forever. Here is what Jesus said:
Luk 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Luk 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Hundreds of verses say the same thing and no serious Bible student will dispute God’s intention to dwell in His people. But we can establish beyond any doubt that in this vision of Daniel 8, we are talking about God cleansing His People and that means the sanctuary to be cleansed is His People.
I am going to take the time to detail this because it leads to the understanding of exactly how God will deal with these beasts, how He will judge all the nations of the earth including Israel, and how the kingdoms of this world will become the Kingdoms of our Lord and Christ.
God sometimes uses the evil in this world to accomplish His purposes. He is not shy about taking credit for it so we should not be shy in pointing it out. Here are a few examples.
-
Amos 3:6 (KJV): “Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?”
-
Jeremiah 11:11 (KJV): “Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.”
-
Jeremiah 21:10 (KJV): “For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the LORD: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.”
-
Jeremiah 32:42 (KJV): “For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.”
-
Ezekiel 14:21 (KJV): “For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?”
God is using the beast that comes up from the sea and the beast that comes up from the earth to accomplish his purposes. He told us ahead of time that He was going to do it. This prophecy in Ezekiel proves that the sanctuary being spoken of in Daniel is NOT a physical building but IS the people of Israel, the daughter of Zion, the Woman that gives birth to the ManChild.
Let’s look at Daniel 11:31 again and then with the explanation to follow, for most of you, hopefully, this will all fall into place.
Dan 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength and shall take away the daily, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
In this verse, the sanctuary is called the ‘sanctuary of strength’. This is a specific reference to the parable of Ezekiel’s wife’s death in Ezekiel 24. We are going to see that the Sanctuary of Strength is talking about the children in Israel. And when the remnant, the few survivors of the little horn’s massacre in Israel, when they see their children being slaughtered, it will be as they are fleeing for their own lives.
Let’s look at the prophecy. You will see that God is taking credit for sending the beast against the nation of Israel.
Eze 24:15 Also the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Eze 24:16 Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.
Eze 24:17 Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.
Eze 24:18 So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died, and I did in the morning as I was commanded.
Eze 24:19 And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so?
Eze 24:20 Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Eze 24:21 Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.
Eze 24:22 And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.
Eze 24:23 And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep, but ye shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another.
Eze 24:24 Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.
Eze 24:25 Also, thou son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their minds, their sons and their daughters,
Eze 24:26 That he that escapeth in that day shall come unto thee, to cause thee to hear it with thine ears?
Eze 24:27 In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them, and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Granted, this prophecy was fulfilled when Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem, but this is also the foreshadowing of this future invasion by the little horn. The common terminology supports this conclusion.
In this prophecy, God defines His sanctuary as His People, once again, just as in the verses from Exodus above. He also defines the strength of His People as their sons and daughters. God says that He will profane His sanctuary, the excellency of their strength, which He defines as their sons and daughters.
To fully understand how this all ties together you need to understand that the book of Ezekiel talks about the REMNANT of Israel. The REMNANT of Israel is the few survivors who flee from Jerusalem during the siege of the Little Horn. These are the people I wrote about at the beginning of this post. The people who flee Jerusalem into the desert of Jordan. There Yahusah HaMasaich meets with them after the manner of Mt. Sinai, face to face. There the REMNANT, the DAUGHTER OF ZION, the WOMAN WHO GIVES BIRTH TO THE MANCHILD, meets with Jesus in person and the REMNANT, the only survivors of Israel, the veil is lifted from their eyes and they believe on THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, YAHUSHA HA MASHIACH, and a nation is born in a day, ALL OF ISRAEL IS SAVED.
The REMNANT is a totally broken and humbled people. Here is the most beautiful description of the REMNANT.
Zep 3:11 In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.
Zep 3:12 I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.
Zep 3:13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
Now let’s look a what Ezekiel has to say about these people.
Eze 43:1 Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east:
Eze 43:2 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.
Eze 43:3 And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face.
Eze 43:4 And the glory of the LORD came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.
Eze 43:5 So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house.
Eze 43:6 And I heard him speaking unto me out of the house, and the man stood by me.
Eze 43:7 And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcasses of their kings in their high places.
Eze 43:8 In their setting of their threshold by my thresholds, and their post by my posts, and the wall between me and them, they have even defiled my holy name by their abominations that they have committed: wherefore I have consumed them in mine anger.
Eze 43:9 Now let them put away their whoredom, and the carcasses of their kings, far from me, and I will dwell in the midst of them forever.
Eze 43:10 Thou son of man, shew the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities: and let them measure the pattern.
Eze 43:11 And if they be ashamed of all that they have done, shew them the form of the house, and the fashion thereof, and the goings out thereof, and the comings in thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the laws thereof: and write it in their sight, that they may keep the whole form thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and do them.
Eze 43:12 This is the law of the house; Upon the top of the mountain, the whole limit thereof round about shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law of the house.
This is the HOUSE of GOD. The true temple. Not a temple made with human hands. Certainly NOT the third temple of Jerusalem.
God says to Ezekiel, if they be ashamed of all they have done……..show THOSE PEOPLE the house of God, the place of His dwelling forever. They will understand it. They will be able to look steadfastly at the glory of God. The veil has been taken away. No longer will the Word of God be line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little there a little. They will understand the LIVING WORD OF GOD.
2Co 3:12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
2Co 3:13 And not as Mosheh, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Yashar’el could not steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
2Co 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remains the same veil untaken away in the reading of the Ancient Covenant; which veil is done away in Mashiach.
2Co 3:15 But even unto this day, when Mosheh is read, the veil is upon their heart.
2Co 3:16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to El־ Yahuah, the veil shall be taken away.
2Co 3:17 Now Yahuah is that Ruach: and where the Ruach Yahuah is, there is liberty.
2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of Yahuah, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Ruach Yahuah. -Cepher Bible
The sanctuary spoken of in the prophecies of Daniel is the people of Israel. After 2300 evenings and mornings THE SANCTUARY, the place where God will dwell forever will be cleansed. That cleansing is when the Remnant believes on Yahusha HaMashiach, Jesus Christ, and they receive the Ruach ha Qodesh, the Holy Spirit who will dwell in them forever. That is the cleansing of the Sanctuary.
Heb 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such a High Priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
Heb 8:2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true Tabernacle, which Yahuah pitched, and not man.
This is the only Sanctuary that can be cleansed. The Remnant of Israel is the sanctuary being spoken of.
Let’s move on and look at the war against the SAINTS.
Beast #1 and Beast #2 are not simply religious zealots. They are religious maniacs. Beast #1 thinks he is God and Beast #2 thinks he is a man who is equal to God. Make no mistake, their war is with the SAINTS of God, which is the true Church, and with the woman who brought forth the ManChild, which is Israel. However, they hate all religions except their own.
Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
Dan 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Unrepentant, unbelieving Israeli are not saints. The Remnant will be saints but they are not at the time referenced in the above scriptures. During this time they are unrepentant, unbelieving Israel. There are some saints in Israel. They are called Messianic Jews. Israelis who believe that Jesus is the true Messiah. They are rightfully called saints and also rightfully called the “ἐκκλησία” ekklēsia, the church.
1Co 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
I want to point this out to anyone who still believes in the rapture teaching that is so prevalent in Christian Churches. There obviously is no pre-tribulation rapture because Beast #1 and Beast #2 wage war against the SAINTS. The church is clearly defined in scripture as the Body of Christ. If the Body of Christ is raptured before the tribulation then there are no saints left to wage war against. Jesus only has one body. You can’t have some saints raptured and some left on Earth.
I will write a full explanation in the section on The Truth About What the Bible Really Says. But for now, there is no pre-tribulation rapture, no mid-tribulation rapture, and no post-tribulation rapture. The only catching away is at the LAST Trump, on the last day when all the dead are raised. We are at least 1000 years plus a Little Season from that event.
Next, let’s look at the ‘host of heaven’ that is thrown down and trampled. Here is the verse from Daniel 8 that we will be discussing.
Dan 8:10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
This is an interesting topic. The Bible has two very different groups that it refers to as the host of heaven. One is in the physical universe that can be seen with our eyes. It includes the sun, moon, and stars along with everything else out there which can include other physical forms of life. The second group exists in the spiritual realm and is not visible to our eyes. Here are a couple of examples of each.
These two verses refer to the physical universe we live in now.
Deu 4:19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.
Deu 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
This verse refers to the spiritual realm where God dwells at this time.
1Ki 22:19 And he said, Hear thou, therefore, the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
This verse refers to the spiritual realm as the heaven of heavens. The host of heaven in this verse also refers to those who dwell in the spiritual realm, the heaven of heavens,
Neh 9:6 Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.
In these passages, the word host is צְבָא (tsva) in Hebrew or the plural form צְבָאוֹת (tsva’ot) is translated as host or hosts. Depending on the context it is translated as other words as well. This is how the words are used and translated in the Old Testament, KJV.
צְבָא (tsva)
- “Host” – 53 times
- “Army” – 15 times
- “Service” – 2 times
- “War” – 1 time
- “Troupes” – 1 time
- “Warring” – 1 time
- “Bands” – 1 time
צְבָאוֹת (tsva’ot)
- “Hosts” – 245 times
- “Armies” – 99 times
- “Service” – 7 times
- “Battles” – 6 times
- “Warfare” – 5 times
- “Companies” – 4 times
- “Troops” – 3 times
- “Militia” – 2 times
- “Campaigns” – 1 time
- “Divisions” – 1 time
- “Forces” – 1 time
In common everyday use in Israel, צְבָא (tsva) refers to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) or the military. It is commonly used to describe the military institution in Israel and can be used to refer to soldiers, military service, or any matters related to the armed forces.
In my opinion, I think the translators of the King James Version (KJV) preferred the word host whenever the context did not specifically have a military connection. People feel uncomfortable when they think of God as a warring entity. I personally think that prejudice is a disservice to the reader. The words צְבָא (tsva) and צְבָאוֹת (tsva’ot) have a military connection far more often than not.
With that in mind, it is far easier to understand the references to the host in the four occurrences in Daniel.
Here we are talking about both the host and the sanctuary.
Dan 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
The sanctuary is the remnant whom God intends to meet with in the wilderness of Jordan, after the manner of Sinai, i.e. face to face. The host is the people of Israel, both military and civilian, adults and children, who are being slaughtered by the False Prophet.
Dan 8:11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him, the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
Here again, if the host is both military and civilian Israel, then the prince of the host should be Michael the Archangel. However, because the place of HIS sanctuary refers to the prince of the host, then the prince must be Jesus. The place of his sanctuary is the territory of Israel.
Dan 8:10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
Here we can use armies or hosts, whichever makes you feel more comfortable. This specifically refers to a non-earthly host.
Dan 8:12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
In this case, the host is an army that is given to the False Prophet. God allows the False Prophet to put together an army because of the sins of Israel and also because of how Israel’s neighboring nations have treated Israel historically.
You can see that ‘host’ is not always referring to the same thing. Unfortunately, the translators used the same word ‘host’ to refer to various groups.
Next, we will look at the ‘daily’. Here is one of the verses containing a reference to this sacrifice.
Dan 8:13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
The word sacrifice after the word daily is not in the original text, it was added to give clarity to the translation. The Hebrew word here is תָּמִיד (tamid). The “tamid” offering, the daily sacrifice, involved multiple sacrifices made both in the morning and evening. It consisted of two lambs, one lamb sacrificed in the morning and the other in the evening, along with accompanying grain offerings and drink offerings. This continuous offering was prescribed in the Mosaic Law and was an important part of the daily worship and sacrificial system in the Tabernacle and later in the Temple. The broader use and meaning of תָּמִיד (tamid) is always, continually, everlasting.
The next verse after Daniel 8:13 gives even more clarity when translated correctly. It refers to 2300 days in the King James Version however days is a poor translation. The verse says 2300 evenings and mornings, ereb and boqer. The translators arbitrarily decided that it meant one day. It appears they were ignorant of the ‘daily’ being a morning and evening sacrifice or they never would have omitted such an obvious connection. Here is the verse:
Dan 8:14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
Finally, in trying to properly understand Daniel’s visions, we need to look at six verses that talk about the timing of the fulfillment of these prophecies. The proper understanding of these verses will allow us to put these visions in the correct period of time in God’s overall plan for humanity. Here are the verses:
Dan 8:17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
Dan 8:19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.
Dan 11:35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.
Dan 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
Dan 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Dan 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
In the book of Daniel, the phrase “time of the end” refers to a prophetic period associated with the fulfillment of divine purposes or the resolution of certain events. It points to a future time when God’s plan will reach its ultimate conclusion with regard to these visions.
“Time of the end” (Daniel 8:17): The Hebrew phrase is “et qêts hâyâmim” (עֵת קֵץ הַיָּמִים). “Et” indicates a specific time, “qêts” refers to the end or culmination, and “hâyâmim” means “the days” or “the time.” This phrase refers to a future period associated with the culmination or the fulfillment of these prophecies.
“End of the indignation” (Daniel 8:19): The Hebrew phrase is “qêts-za‛am” (קֵץ־זַעַם). “Qêts” refers to the end, and “za‛am” means “indignation” or “wrath.” This phrase signifies the conclusion or termination of a period of divine anger or judgment. This suggests a time when God’s judgment or anger will come to an end, potentially indicating the start of a period of divine mercy or restoration.
“The appointed time” (Daniel 11:35): The Hebrew phrase is “mo‛êd” (מוֹעֵד). “Mo‛êd” generally refers to an appointed time, a set time, or an appointed festival. In this context, it signifies a specific time designated by God for these events to take place.
When considering these phrases collectively, they indicate a future period associated with the culmination of these particular events, the end of divine anger or judgment, and the fulfillment of these specific visions in Daniel for divine purposes.
Now that we have some of the key understandings from Daniels’s visions we can begin to put the visions of Daniel together with the symbols in Revelation 12,13, and 17 to get a clearer picture of the False Prophet.
Revelation 12:
THE WOMAN CLOTHED WITH THE SUN. Clearly, this is Israel, the daughter of Zion.
THE MANCHILD. This is not the REMNANT. It can either be Jesus, or the 144,000 based on what we have covered so far. I am not going into this now because it would take too long. It is about First Fruits. It would be important to date setters of whom I am not. There is ample information in Yeetfire.com to make the arrival of the Beast of no surprise whatsoever to the elect of God. As it is written in the scriptures: 1Th 5:1-11 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
THE GREAT RED DRAGON. This is Satan. The seven heads are the six empires that have ruled over Israel’s descendants and the seventh is the Empire of Beast 1. The 10 horns are the 10 kings of Beast 1’s empire.
Revelation 13:
THE BEAST THAT RISES UP FROM THE SEA. This is the coming Caliphate along with the Caliph that will rule the combined territories of the Babylonian Empire, the Achaemenid Empire, and the Hellenistic Empire.
THE BEAST THAT RISES UP FROM THE EARTH. The False Prophet, aka the Little Horn, that subdues 3 of the 10 kings serving the Caliph. Most likely, the kings of Iran, Iraq, and Syria.
Revelation 17:
THE GREAT WHORE. Religions and false gods stemming from the antediluvian world that was re-established by Nimrod in Mesopotamian shortly after the flood and subsequently spread worldwide throughout all generations. In short, Idolatry in all of its permutations.
She is also a city that reigns over the kings of the earth. Her name is Babylon the Great. Babylon is the birthplace of post-flood religion. She is the mother of Harlotry (idolatry) and Abominations (idols) of the Earth. The religion of the post-flood world first took the form of idolatry.
We have established that the kingdom of Beast #1 will be a Muslim Caliphate. This will require strict adherence to Islam. The two major religions that oppose Islam are Christianity and Judaism. The Beast will wage war against Jerusalem but it will not burn forever. The popular belief is that the only city that is a center of religion that has historically reigned over the kings of the earth is Vatican City. Catholicism has roots in the Church, however, it has gone astray. It is full of Babylonian idolatrous traditions. This conclusion is said to be supported by the call of Revelation 18:4.
Rev 18:1-4 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
The only problem with this assumption is that scripture does not support it.
What scripture does support is that Babylon the Great is Chaldea, the birthplace of post-flood sorcery.
Jer 50:10 And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, saith the LORD.
Jer 51:24 And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the LORD.
Jer 51:35 The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall the inhabitant of Zion say; and my blood upon the inhabitants of Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say.
Jer 51:6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD’S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompense.
Jer 51:7 Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.
Isa 47:7-15 And thou saidst, I shall be a lady forever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it. Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children: But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries and for the great abundance of thine enchantments. For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me. Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know. Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail. Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it. Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander everyone to his quarter; none shall save thee.
Sorcery is the preeminent quality of the Beast and the False Prophet.
SCARLET-COLORED BEAST FULL OF NAMES OF BLASPHEMY WITH SEVEN HEADS AND TEN HORNS. The seven heads are seven mountains, the mountains represent kingdoms. These are the five kingdoms that ruled over Israel previous to the prophecy, the Roman Empire is the sixth which was happening during the prophecy, and Beast 1’s kingdom, which will rule over Israel, is yet to come, making seven. Those are the seven heads, seven kingdoms, and kings. The ten horns are the ten kings who are in effect regents in Beast 1’s kingdom.
The phrase “names of blasphemy” here refers to the titles or inscriptions associated with this symbolic figure throughout history. These names or titles represent blasphemous claims, false teachings, or idolatrous practices attributed to the figure. The figure itself represents both kings and kingdoms that rule over God’s chosen people, Israel, here are a few of those names.
-
Egypt: The primary gods of ancient Egypt varied across different time periods, but some of the prominent deities included Ra (the sun god), Amun (the king of the gods), Isis (the goddess of magic and wisdom), Osiris (the god of the afterlife), and Horus (the god of kingship and the sky).
-
Assyria: The primary god of the Assyrians was Ashur, who was considered the supreme deity and the patron god of the Assyrian empire. Other important deities in the Assyrian pantheon included Ishtar (the goddess of love and war) and Sin (the god of the moon).
-
Babylon: The Babylonians worshiped a pantheon of gods, with Marduk being the most prominent. Marduk was considered the supreme god and the patron deity of Babylon. Other important gods in Babylonian religion included Ishtar, Nabu, Shamash, and Sin.
-
Medes and Persians: ( the Achaemenid Empire) The primary religion of the Medes and Persians was Zoroastrianism, which had Ahura Mazda as its supreme god. Zoroastrianism emphasized the dualistic struggle between Ahura Mazda (the god of truth and light) and Angra Mainyu (the god of evil and darkness).
-
Alexander the Great: ( the Hellenistic or Macedonian Empire) Alexander the Great and the Greek culture that accompanied his conquests worshiped a pantheon of Greek gods and goddesses, including Zeus (the king of the gods), Athena (the goddess of wisdom and war), Apollo (the god of the sun and music), and many others.
-
Roman Empire: The Romans incorporated and adapted various gods and goddesses from different cultures. Jupiter (equivalent to the Greek Zeus) was considered the king of the gods. Other important Roman deities included Mars (the god of war), Venus (the goddess of love), and Minerva (the goddess of wisdom).
THE BEAST WHO WAS, IS NOT, AND YET IS. This is an exercise in logic. Gather the facts and put them in order.
- The angel tells John that he will show him the judgment of the Great Whore.
- John sees a woman sit upon a scarlet-colored beast.
- The angel tells John that he will tell him the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her.
- The angel tells John, The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is
- NOW WE KNOW FOR CERTAIN THE BEAST THAT WAS, AND IS NOT, AND YET IS…is the scarlet-colored beast John SAW.
- NOW WE KNOW THAT THE BEAST WILL ASCEND OUT OF THE BOTTOMLESS PIT (the abyss)
- NOW WE KNOW THAT KINGDOMS DO NOT RESIDE IN THE BOTTOMLESS PIT, PEOPLE DO.
- NOW WE KNOW THAT FROM THIS POINT ON WHEN WE TALK ABOUT THE BEAST WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A PERSON, A KING, OF KINGDOM #7.
- NOW WE KNOW THAT THOSE WHO BEHOLD (see) THE BEAST ARE THOSE LIVING ON THE EARTH AT THAT TIME
- The angel tells John, The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
- WE ALREADY ESTABLISHED THOSE SEVEN KINGDOMS
- Then the angel tells John, And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
- WE HAVE ALREADY ESTABLISHED THAT THE KINGS SPOKEN OF HERE ARE THE KINGS OF THE FIVE PREVIOUS KINGDOMS THAT RULED OVER ISRAEL, PLUS THE ROMAN EMPEROR, AND THE FIRST KING OF BEAST 1’S KINGDOM IS THE ONE WHO IS TO COME. THAT WOULD BE KING #7 RULING OVER EMPIRE #7.
- Then the angel tells John, and the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
- NOW WE KNOW THAT THE BEAST IS KING #8 AND REPLACES KING #7 BECAUSE THERE ARE ONLY SEVEN KINGDOMS, SEVEN HEADS.
- WE KNOW KING #8 IS ALSO ONE OF THE FIRST SEVEN KINGS
- WE KNOW THAT THE PEOPLE LIVING AT THAT TIME WILL WONDER, THAT IS, THEY ARE ASTOUNDED WHEN THEY SEE THE BEAST WHO WAS, IS NOT, AND YET IS.
- IN ORDER TO BE ASTOUNDED THEY MUST HAVE SEEN…
- THE BEAST WHO WAS (king #7)
- WHO IS NOT (king #7 is dead)
- AND WHO IS
- (who ascends from the bottomless pit, the place of the dead, king #8)
Now let’s go back to Revelation 16:13-14 to see these three main characters mentioned together.
Rev 16:13-14 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
THE DRAGON:
- THE GREAT RED DRAGON from Revelation 12, aka Satan
THE BEAST:
- THE BEAST THAT RISES UP FROM THE SEA from Revelation 13
- SCARLET-COLORED BEAST FULL OF NAMES OF BLASPHEMY WITH SEVEN HEADS AND TEN HORNS from Revelation 17
- THE BEAST WHO WAS, IS NOT, AND YET IS from Revelation 17
- Dan 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
- Dan 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
THE FALSE PROPHET:
- THE BEAST THAT RISES UP FROM THE EARTH from Revelation 13
- Dan 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
- Dan 7:11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
- Dan 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
- Dan 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
-
Dan 8:9-14 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered. Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
-
Dan 8:23-25 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
-
Dan 9:26b-27 and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
-
Dan 11:21-45 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honor of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant. And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people. He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strongholds, even for a time. And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army, and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him. Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain. And both these kings’ hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table, but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed. Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant, and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land. At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter. For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant. And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed. And the king shall do according to his will, and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that, that is determined shall be done. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. But in his estate shall he honor the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many and shall divide the land for gain. And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
As you can see the Book of Revelation has very little to say about the False Prophet, but the Book of Daniel is focused primarily on him. The reason is that the False Prophet is the one troubling Israel and Daniel is wholly concerned with the well-being of Israel. This is the reason for Daniel’s keen interest in this character when trying to understand his own visions.
On the other hand, the Book of Revelation spends a great deal of time on the judgment of the nations of the Earth. This judgment includes Israel but Israel is not the focus. Israel is simply one of the nations being judged.
Jer 30:11 For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.
Jer 46:28 Fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, saith the LORD: for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee: but I will not make a full end of thee, but correct thee in measure; yet will I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
At this time I want to familiarize you with the person in the Bible known as the Assyrian.
The word that is translated Assyrian in the scriptures when referring to the False Prophet is the word Ashur in Hebrew. It is literally Asshur, the son of Shem. Asshur is the original ancestor of the False Prophet.
In the Book of Jubilees, there is a section that describes the division of the earth among the descendants of Noah’s three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. According to Jubilees 9:3-4, the territories assigned to Asshur (Ashur), the son of Shem, are as follows:
“And for Asshur came forth the second portion, all the land of Ashur and Nineveh and Shinar and to the border of India, and it ascends and skirts the river.”
Based on this passage, the territories assigned to Asshur include the land of Ashur (Assyria), Nineveh in Mesopotamia, Shinar (Babylonia), and the region up to the border of India. These territories were traditionally associated with the Assyrian Empire, which was prominent in ancient history.
Once we get into the scriptures about the Assyrian we will learn that he is responsible for his own land, his homeland, being completely destroyed. This is how we are certain that at least two of the three horns that he plucks up by the roots will be Iran and Iraq because the Bible clearly prophesies that during the final war, the territories we know today to be Iran and Irag will become permanently uninhabitable.
The False Prophet is the Assyrian of Biblical prophecy. We know that by many different ways. Look at the scriptures above from Daniel that are attributed to the Little Horn. Here are just some of the keys to linking him to hundreds of Old Testament scriptures.
- Little Horn plucks up 3 of Beast #1s horns by the roots
- Has eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things
- Little Horn makes war with the saints and overcomes them
- Speaks great words against the Most High (God)
- Rules for a time, times and the dividing of time
- Takes away the daily sacrifice
- Erects the abomination of desolation (the image of Beast #1)
- Prevails for 2300 evenings and mornings
- He understands dark sentences (sorcery)
- He does not regard the god of his fathers, nor any god
- Obtains his kingdom peacefully through flatteries
- Make a covenant with many for one week (7 years)
- After 3½ years he breaks the covenant of peace
- Wages war against many countries
- His assault is likened to a flood
- His war lasts 3½ years and ends
- On his second attack on Egypt and Ethiopia (the king of the South) the ships of Chittim come against him
- He turns to go back toward his homeland, destroying everything in his path
- Edom, Moab and Ammon escape his fury
- On his return from that battle he stops outside of Jerusalem and there the war turns against him
Almost everything on that list comes from Daniel. We know much more about the False Prophet from the Old Testament starting with the prophecy of Balaam in Numbers 24 then Psalms 83, Isaiah 10,14,23,30,31, Micah 5, Nahumn 1,2,3, Zephaniah 2, and Zechariah 10 just to name a few.
I am not going over all those scriptures here. I want to focus on Isaiah 10 and then insert a few of the scriptures above so you get a fairly complete picture.
Isa 10:5 O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.
The ‘Day of the Lord’ is about the indignation of God against Israel, and the rest of the nations of the Earth for turning their backs on the God who created them and worshipping idols and other gods who are no gods at all. It is the judgment of the Gentiles (nations) and the final end of what has been an ongoing judgment of Israel. His indignation has come to the time of judgment on the Earth. The Assyrian is whom God is using to execute His final judgments on Israel. Then God will turn His wrath on the instrument of His judgment, the Assyrian.
Isa 10:6 I will send him against a hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
Isa 10:7 Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.
The Assyrian doesn’t have a clue he is being used by God to accomplish God’s purposes. He thinks he is a super clever guy who is a great conquerer.
Isa 10:8 For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings?
Isa 10:9 Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?
Isa 10:10 As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;
Isa 10:11 Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?
Isa 10:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
This is the key verse that tells us for certain that the Assyrian being spoken of in this chapter is not some past Assyrian king, but is indeed the Beast that comes up from the Earth in Revelation 13. God says “when He has performed His WHOLE WORK UPON MT ZION AND JERUSALEM”. This is still in our future, it has not been completed yet.
Isa 10:13 For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man:
Isa 10:14 And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.
Isa 10:15 Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself as if it were not wood.
Here again, in verse 15, God is taking credit for using the Assyrian to accomplish His purposes.
Isa 10:16 Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.
Isa 10:17 And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;
Here, verse 17, is one of the prophecies that God will use ‘the Light of Israel’, the ‘Holy One of Israel’ to defeat the Assyrian.
Isa 10:18 And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standard-bearer fainteth.
Isa 10:19And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.
Isa 10:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
Isa 10:21 The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
Isa 10:22 For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
Isa 10:23 For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.
Isa 10:24 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.
Isa 10:25 For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.
Isa 10:26 And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.
Isa 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
These two verses tell us exactly how God is going to strike terror into the heart of the Assyrian. We see above in Daniel 8:25 that he is going to be broken without hand. We see in verse 27 above that he will be defeated by the anointing. We will see in some scriptures yet to come, Isaiah 30:31 and 32 that the Assyrian will be beaten down by the ‘voice of the Lord’ and by ‘tabrets and harps’. But verse 26 above gives us the complete picture. The slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb. This is the well-known story of Gideon defeating the army of the Midianites with 300 men. (a small remnant) It is in Judges chapter 7.
The key is how it was done. At night, with torches inside clay vessels and a trumpet in every man’s hand. The torches in this case are defined in verse 17 above, …the light of Israel shall be for a flame and the Holy One of Israel for a fire… The clay vessels are our human bodies. And when the REMNANT ( Gideons 300 men are symbolically the REMNANT) broke the clay vessels the torches (fires) became visible to the Midianites and the men shouted and blew their trumpets, fear gripped the Midianite army and they fled in terror.
When the REMNANT returns after meeting with God face to face in the desert, the glory of God shining on their bodies (clay vessels) shouting, singing, with tabrets and harps and praising the TRUE MESSIAH, the Assyrian, and his army will hear the ‘voice of the Lord’ coming from the mouths of the REMNANT and they will turn and flee in terror.
Here are those verses from Isaiah 30:31 and 32, then we will return and finish chapter 10. Isa 30:30-32 And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones. For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod. And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.
Now back to Isaiah 10.
Isa 10:28 He is come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he hath laid up his carriages:
Isa 10:29 They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.
Isa 10:30 Lift up thy voice, O daughter of Gallim: cause it to be heard unto Laish, O poor Anathoth.
Isa 10:31 Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee.
Isa 10:32 As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
Verses 28-32 show the Assyrian’s final march onto Jerusalem. He is coming down from the north and his final stop in just outside Jerusalem. Verse 32 says he shakes his fist against Jerusalem in his anger. The last verse in Daniel 11 from above says: Dan 11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
Here are some other snippets of scriptures that refer to the Assyrian and his actions that correlate to Daniels prophecies. You can look up the chapters and get the full context if you are interested.
Isa 14:25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
Isa 31:8 Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited.
-
- The sword of Yahuah is always the WORD OF GOD, THE TRUTH.
Mic 5:5 And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
Mic 5:6 And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
Num 24:23 And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!
Num 24:24 And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.
Here all the way back in Numbers, before Israel entered the promised land for the first time, we see the prophecy of the ships of Chittim coming against the Assyrian during the Day of the Lord. This is confirmed in Daniel 11 above. We also know from Numbers 24:23 above the it is the Day of the Lord because he says, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!
Nah 1:14 And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.
Here, once again, God calls this man a vile person, just like in Daniel 11:21 above. He also declares that he will cut off this man’s heritage on the earth. No children. No more will his name be sown.
Basically, the whole book of Nahum is about the Assyrian. It is the judgment of Nineveh, his homeland.
Nahum 1:1 The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
Nahum 1:11 There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked counsellor.
Nahum 1:13 For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
Isa 23:13 Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this people was not, till the Assyrian founded it for them that dwell in the wilderness: they set up the towers thereof, they raised up the palaces thereof; and he brought it to ruin.
Zep 2:13 And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.
Zep 2:14 And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work.
Zep 2:15 This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.
Zec 10:11 And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.
And finally, as promised I want to include the prophecy of the REMNANT meeting with God in the desert, face to face. When Moses met with God, face to face, on Mt Sinai, he came down from that mountain with the Glory of God shining upon his face. I believe it will happen again, after the manner of Mt. Sinai, the REMNANT will meet with God, face to face.
Eze 20:33 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:
Eze 20:34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.
Eze 20:35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face.
Eze 20:36 Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD.
Eze 20:37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:
Eze 20:38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Finally, I want to leave you with this. Way back in my section on The Truth About Science, I asked you to make a mental note about this scripture…
Isaiah 59:19b When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
In Daniel 11:21 and 22 above it reads: And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honor of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
I personally believe that Isaiah 59:19 is talking about the Assyrian’s assault on Israel.
This is just my opinion, I have no scripture to back me up, but I think the standard that will be lifted up for all the world to see will be the ten commandments written by the finger of God.
I personally believe that Israel knows where the Ark of the Covenant is. The only things inside the Ark are the two tables of stone that Moses brought down from Mt. Sinai. The scriptures clearly state that those two tablets of stone contain the ten commandments WRITTEN BY THE FINGER OF GOD.
If they are written by the finger of God then every single letter will be exactly the same length, width. and depth. PERFECT. PERFECT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE PLANCK SCALE.
Planck Length (lP) is the scale at which the fabric of spacetime becomes grainy or discrete. It is approximately equal to 1.6 x 10^-35 meters.
No machine could do that. No laser could do that. No angel could do that. In fact, nothing in the known universe could do that.
It will be definitive proof of the existence of God.
AND FURTHERMORE, written on those tables of stone by the finger of God it says:
Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Proving, once and for all, that the universe we live in, right now, is approximately 6000 years old.
